Current Position:

I started teaching at Meadowlark Elementary in 2000 in part-time Half Day Kindergarten.  The following year, our entire staff helped open the new Prairie Creek Elementary School where I continued to teach part-time Half Day Kindergarten. The following year, the Meadowlark staff and students returned to Meadowlark and I continued in my part-time Half Day Kindergarten position.  The following year, I went to Martin Elementary so that I could be full-time and I taught two Half Day Kindergarten classes. I was excited to return to Meadowlark as an All Day Kindergarten teacher for one year and then "looped up" with my students to First Grade, where I remained for five years! For two years, I was library media specialist for Meadowlark and Sunflower Elementary Schools.  However, I am thrilled that the district hired more media specialists and I will be the library media specialist for only Meadowlark. I've been fortunate to meet many wonderful staff, students and parents in multiple schools in the Andover School District.

Previous Position:

My first two years of teaching were at Cooper Elementary, in the Derby School District.  Then we moved to Overland Park, KS where I taught at Oak Hill Elementary in the Blue Valley School District for three years.  Followed by 14 years of staying home and raising my three children. During my years at home with my kids, volunteered at Meadowlark and served as room mom to many classes.  I also was the Preschool Ministries Coordinator at Metro East Baptist Church for 3 years.

Family Information:

My husband, Rob, and I moved to the Andover area from Oklahoma in 2000 with our three children.

I'm honored to be a part of the Andover School District. I previously taught in the Derby and Blue Valley school districts, and this is my eighth year in Andover. The reputation of the Andover school district is what brought my family to choose this area and I feel blessed to teach in such a wonderful district! I stayed at home for 14 years with my kids and was a parent volunteer at Meadowlark Elementary for many years before deciding to re-enter the teaching profession at Meadowlark.  I have teaching experience in 3rd grade, Kindergarten, First Grade and now as Library Media Specialist.

Meadowlark has excellent staff members that strive to provide the very best education for your child. I’m thrilled to be a part of a school with such great academic reputation.

I welcome any information you feel will help me get to know your child better. Please know that you are welcome in our library anytime!  Let’s work together to make your child’s year a successful one!

Personal Information:

My hobbies are vacationing with my family and reading literature for all ages!
