2026-27 applications

Applications for Andover Early Learning for the 2026-27 school year will open at 7 a.m. Jan. 21. Check back here for a link to the application.

Please join us for an Early Learning Information Night from 5-6 p.m. Jan. 15 at Prairie Creek Elementary, 654 S. YMCA Drive in Andover. This is your chance to meet teachers, learn more about our program and have your questions answered. We ask that this be an adults-only event.

Please note: The new Kansas out-of-district enrollment policy does not apply to Early Learning programs. Andover Early Learning is only offered to children who reside with Andover Public Schools district boundaries.

About our programs

Andover Early Learning provides a high-quality educational experience for young children in the years before they are eligible to enter kindergarten. The outcome is for children to enter kindergarten ready to succeed. While this program is offered at Prairie Creek Elementary School, 654 S. YMCA Drive in Andover, KS, we serve any student who lives in the Andover Public Schools boundaries.

Program highlights include:

Certified teachers and highly-qualified support staff.
Half-day classes meet four days a week, Monday through Thursday.
The morning session is from 8:35-11:40 a.m. and the afternoon session is 12:45-3:45 p.m.
Students participate in library, art, music and physical education instructed by certified teachers.
Low student-teacher ratios.
Transportation is available for a fee, or free to those who qualify.

Fee-Based Pre-K for ages 3 and 4

Students must be 3 or 4 years old as of Aug. 31, 2026, and toilet trained. Our toilet training policy is strictly enforced, and students who are not able to meet these guidelines will be unenrolled from the program.
Current Early Learning students must re-apply each year to continue participation.
Spots are filled based on the order applications are received.
Enrollment fees are $300 per month. Initial, nonrefundable payment of $300 will be due Feb. 22, 2026. This payment will cover August and September fees. Further fee payments of $300 will be paid through monthly bank drafts beginning Oct. 1, 2026.
Transportation is available for a fee for students who live and are transported within the Andover district.
Sessions offered:
- 3-year-olds: AM.
- 4-year-olds: AM and PM.
If you don't believe your child will qualify for our state-subsidized program, you will be asked to sign your child up for a free developmental screening.

State-Subsidized Pre-K for children ages 3 and 4

Students must be 3 or 4 years old by Aug. 31, 2026, toilet trained, and must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- At least one parent was a teen at the time of the child’s birth
- Lives in a single-parent household
- Limited English proficiency (eligibility determined by screening assessment)
- Meets criteria for Federal Free Lunch Program (verified in July, recommend assessing for possible developmental delay as a back-up qualifier)
- Demonstrates lower-than-expected developmental progress (eligibility determined by screening assessment)
- Either parent lacks a high school diploma or GED
- Department for Children and Families (DCF) referral (ex-foster care)
No fees required
Our toilet training policy is strictly enforced. Students who are not able to meet our toilet training guidelines will be unenrolled from the program.
Transportation is available for a fee for students who live in and are transported within Andover district boundaries. Free transportation may be available for those who qualify.
AM and PM sessions offered.

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)

Offered to 3- and 4-year-olds who qualify for services in areas such as communicating, learning, hearing, seeing, moving or social/emotional needs.
